How to Create Viral BTS "Selfie with Celebrity" AI Videos (Step-by-Step)

If you haven’t been living under a rock lately, you’ve probably seen the trend taking over X (Twitter), Reddit, and TikTok: hyper-realistic AI videos of people taking selfies with celebrities on famous movie sets.

These videos are generating millions of views. In fact, after I posted my own version on social media, I landed a paying client within 24 hours who wanted something similar.

If you want to create your own "Selfie with Celebrity" videos and go viral, then this tutorial is for you!

I have developed the perfect prompt and workflow to achieve this look, and I’m sharing it all below. In this tutorial, I will walk you through the process step-by-step and teach you how to avoid common AI glitches—like characters disappearing or glitching out.

Here is how to make them.

Step 1: Create the Base Images

For this step, you need a tool that supports Nano Banana Pro.

First, we need to generate a specific prompt for the movie scene you have in mind. Go to ChatGPT (or your preferred LLM) and use the following command to format your request:

Generating the Image

  1. Head to an AI generator: I personally use nanobananaproprompts.com (you can create two pro images for free), but feel free to use any interface that supports the Nano Banana Pro model.
  2. Upload your photo: For the best results, use a photo of yourself that shows your upper body with a clear, unoccluded face.

  1. Enter the prompt: Paste the code you got from ChatGPT.
  2. Generate: Hit the button. After about a minute, you will have a realistic selfie with the celebrity. Repeat this process until you have 6–10 high-quality selfies that you are happy with. You will need these for the different scenes in your video.

Step 2: Animate the Transitions

Now we need to turn these static images into a video. For this, go to an AI video model website. I recommend Flow from Google (Veo3) for the highest quality, but Pollo AI is a great alternative that offers free credits to new users.

Locate the "Frame to Frame" feature. You will upload two different selfies: one as the Start Frame and one as the End Frame.

You have two style options for the movement between frames:

Option A: The "Running" Transition

Use this prompt if you want the character to run from one set to another:

Option B: The "Smooth Pan" Transition

Use this prompt if you want a seamless lateral camera move:

**[6s-8s]:** The panning camera reveals another celebrity standing nearby. The **protagonist greets** the celebrity and makes a pose together as they snap the second selfie. They gently smile and don’t talk.

💡 Pro Tip: Fixing Character Glitches

If there are multiple people in your selfie, you might notice errors where one person morphs into another during the transition. This happens because the AI gets confused about which character is which.

To fix this, add detailed descriptions regarding clothing and age for the character in the prompt. This helps the AI maintain consistency.

Example of a detailed prompt:

**[0s-3s]:** The scene begins with the **protagonist (wearing a pair of glasses)** and the first two celebrities (**both wearing suits**) taking a selfie. They are gently smiling as they adjust the phone angle together. They do not talk.

Step 3: Final Editing

Once you have generated your video clips, bring them into an editing software like CapCut to stitch them together.

  • Sequencing: Arrange your clips to tell a story (e.g., running from a Harry Potter set to a Star Wars set).
  • Effects: Add a "camera flash" effect at the moment the selfie is taken to sell the realism.
  • Sound: Add background studio noise or camera shutter sounds.
